hello

Things I've always wanted to do:

1. Perform a random act of malice.

2. Join a band that plays metal covers of pop songs.

3. Start a blog that actually has a regular stream of new posts.

I like my chances for number 1.

In other news:

Black Clouds & Silver Linings and Octahedron are both out this week. Woohoo! Aural orgasms here we come, hurhur. Maybe I'll review the albums. Maybe someone will care. Maybe a five-foot banana will walk in and give me the keys to a Ferrari Superamerica.

I am trying desperately to stay intellectually invested--and awake--past the first 10 pages of Dirk Wittenborn's Pharmakon. Not that my opinion matters much (i.e. at all), but the characters as yet don't look very compelling. Then again, the blurb at the back of the book is intriguing enough for me to want to see if the plot gets any fun-er.

I wonder what non-Singaporeans think of 'Economic Rice/Beehoon'. Personally I expect an economic food item to be able to stimulate interest rates, or debate Paul Krugman. Which is actually more than I can say about other economic things, and people.

This entry hasn't said anything much, so I've fulfilled the 'pretentious' bit.

Never trust a banana, by the way.
